It has been such a long time since I’ve updated my blog. I have the day off today, so I thought I’d use it to write an update.
Work has been ultra busy since the Coronavirus shutdown began. The number of requests that have been coming through has been quite overwhelming. I’m certainly not complaining, though, as I know that there are plenty of people who have had the misfortune of being laid off in the last several weeks.
I quite enjoy working from home every day. I like being in my own space, cooking my lunches, and going for walks around my neighbourhood several times a day. In addition to maintaining my mental health, I have another reason to go for frequent walks. We got a puppy!
We got our little Pomchi Bosco towards the end of April. He is five pounds of energy and hilarity. I have never owned a dog before, so this has been quite the learning experience for me. The first few weeks were full of many tears, both happy and sad. The sad tears were primarily due to the fatigue that goes along with waking up every couple of hours at night to let the puppy relieve himself. I also had to get used to looking both left and right before taking a step, as Bosco loves to stand by my feet when I’m cooking.
Bosco is five months old now, and he’s learning and growing every day. He’s a little guy, and likely won’t get any heavier than 7-8 pounds. His small size is ideal for us since we live in a condo. His training is going well, but he is still just a little guy. There is still much to learn.
Having Bosco has helped alleviate any potential feelings of depression and loneliness that often accompany being isolated daily. I still have Greg with me, so I’m not completely isolated. However, Greg works outside of the home all week. Having a cute little face staring at me from underneath my desk is more than welcome.
Bosco is on Instagram! If you would like to follow Bosco and see all of his daily shenanigans, his handle is @callme.bosco.
